RE: Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for Cultural Resource Management (CRM) Services.

1)  Ohio Valley Archaeological Consultants, Ltd., (OVAC) has been in operation since 1998 and has produced over 400 CRM reports in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, New York, and Indiana.  We have completed all phases of cultural resource management projects (Phase I-III) and have an excellent agency review record.

2)  All personnel meet the U.S. Secretary of Interior Standards for Archaeology.  The Principal Investigator (Albert Pecora, Ph.D.) is a Registered Professional Archaeologist.  The Register (R.P.A.) is a professional organization with an enforced code of professional ethics and standards.  OVAC is also recognized as a qualified consultant by the Ohio Historic Preservation Office and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (Division of Mineral Resource Management), and as a prequalified consultant with the Ohio Department of Transportation.  Overall, OVAC staff exceed the professional standards for archaeology for all federal, state, and local government agencies.

Like other cultural resource management firms in Ohio, we have a pool of additional field technicians and specialists on-call on an as needed basis.  Generally, we are capable of handling all projects in house.

3) OVAC has completed CRM projects in 55 of Ohio’s 88 counties.  Our past clients include engineering firms, ODNR, ODOT, coal companies, municipalities, sanitary sewer departments, development companies, and wireless communications firms.  We also conduct geophysical surveys for non-CRM clients, such as Universities and other research entities.
