OVAI and Ohio Historical Society archaeologists located a new earthwork inside the walls of the Hopewell hilltop enclosure at Fort Ancient, which was built about 1700-1800 years ago. For more information go to the Ohio Historical Society website and search on Fort Ancient New Discoveries 2005.
   

Excavations in the back yard of Eddie Rickenbacker's boyhood home located numerous artifacts and features from the childhood of America's Ace of Aces in World War One.
   

The Manns site is a Late Woodland Period (circa A.D. 1000) and buried Late Archaic site in southern Ohio found on a terrace along the Ohio River. A magnetic survey located numerous buried cooking pits and backhoe trenching uncovered the older, buried occupation layer.
